Fabulous law firm located downtown Toronto is growing! The firm is looking to hire a legal assistant working with litigation and a focus on Health law – applicants must have experience working with Health law. Responsibilities:
-Create documents and correspondence through transcription and copy-typing, making revisions as necessary
-Prepare expense reports, courier forms, file opening forms, etc.
– Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings and conferences
-Prepare and generate pre-bills for monthly billing, as needed
-Book travel and make reservations, as required
-Prepare minute books
-Organize, maintain and accurately file correspondence, invoices and receipts via paper and digital formats
-Transfer inactive files to storage
Qualifications:
-Legal Assistant Diploma, 5+ years’ experience working within a similar role in a law firm.
-Experience in Health Law is a must.
-Hands-on experience working with court or ministry forms as it relates to the litigation practice area
-Rules of Civil Procedure
-Work independently, following instructions with minimal supervision
-Microsoft Word, Outlook and Calendar along with ACL
-Solid transcription and proofreading skills/ attention to detail
-Familiar with developing basic Excel and PowerPoint chart
-Pre-bill administration (preferably using 3E)
Familiarity working within a DMS system is an asset
