Personal Injury Lawyer – 100% remote Burlington Permanent

Law firm focused on Personal Injury located in Burlington, Ontario is growing.

The role will focus on Tort matters, filing motions, assist with preparation for examinations, discoveries, mediations, and pre-trial proceedings. Experience with Catastrophic Impairment litigation, LAT Hearings, and trial preparation is an asset. Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure, and Accident Benefits (SABs, LAT forms, and procedures) 7 + years’ of experience in Ontario with Personal Injury law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technology Use: Primafact paperless environment, various software and AI technology for case management, document preparation, and research tasks. Familiarity with legal tech tools and the ability to adapt to evolving technology is essential. (Ability to use Clio and PC Law is an asset).
• Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare, organize, and assemble materials for legal forms and documents, including productions, medical requests, and other case-related materials.
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on laws, statutes, regulations, and case law to support ongoing cases.
• Case Management: Collect, organize, and summarize evidence, documents, and reports in preparation for hearings and trials.
• Hearing and Trial Preparation: Assist with trial briefs, motions, and preparing evidence for hearings, mediations, and pre-trial conferences.
• Communication: Maintain ongoing communication with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and non-parties involved in the case. Staying in constant communication with the staff, guiding them, and reviewing their work is crucial to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Medical Assessments: It is critical to determine and ensure that all necessary medical assessments for Accident Benefits (AB) and Tort matters are completed in a timely fashion.
