Fabulous Labour and Employment law firm is growing! The team is looking to add a Labour and Employment Law Clerk
Responsibilities:
Reporting to 1 Partner and 2 associates, providing guidance and organizational and administrative support
Draft correspondence, court documents, and pleadings, and assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents
Manage and organize documents within the firm’s document management system (Clio)
Manage inboxes, calendars, filing deadlines, scheduling meetings, and maintaining an organized system for legal documents and case files
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court offices
Review and analyze legal documents
Prepare, review and process client invoices for the Partner and 2 associates (management side only)
Assist the Partner with operational responsibilities such as delegation of work, supervision of students and clerks, organizing, planning Firm events, and marketing
Managing and assisting the Partner with other duties as required to ensure that their practice is running smoothly
Requirements:
3-5 years’ experience as a law clerk in a boutique law firm setting (labour and employment law is an asset)
Proficiency with the Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of the Small Claims Court (Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario Rules, Ontario Labour Relations Board is an asset)
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team setting
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Experience with Clio or similar document management and file‑opening software
