Accounting Clerk – Law Firm Permanent

Fabulous family law firm located in the Toronto Downtown core is growing! The firm is looking to add an accounting to their accounting team.

Responsibilities:

• prepare billings for lawyers
• follow up on collections for lawyers
• respond to e-mails and calls from clients and law firm staff regarding payment and other requests
• handling client requests
• following up regarding account receivable and/or retainer payments
• process credit card payment, trust transfers, certifying cheques and third party deposit
• prepare daily deposit slips and month reports for banking after billing
• setting up new clients and fielding client questions
• forwarding accounts to collections
• other admin tasks as required

Qualifications:

• 2 plus years’ experience working in an accounting/bookkeeping role in a law firm setting in Ontario
• graduate of a bookkeeping/ accounting program
• experience with accounts receivable
• experience with PC Law
• excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in English
