Accounts Payable Clerk – Law Firm Permanent

Fabulous full service law firm located in the Toronto Downtown core is growing! The firm is looking to add an accounting clerk to their team.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK

Currently looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their Accounting team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage payment processing cycles;
• Code vendor invoices and obtain proper approvals for payment;
• Review submitted expense reports and process staff expense reimbursements;
• Accurately allocate file disbursements to client files;
• Facilitate authorized electronic payments including wire transfers and EFTs;
• Arrange to issue cheques as requisitioned by staff;
• Post credit card receipts and assist with monthly credit card reconciliations;
• Handle petty cash and maintain balance of funds;
• Assist with cash forecasting;
• Provide backup support to other accounting clerks in team as needed;
• Contribute to other accounting projects as requested; and
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Successful completion of a University or College Accounting program;
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in a similar capacity within professional services. Law firm experience is preferred;
• Working knowledge of general accounting procedures and guidelines;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook);
• Experience working with legal accounting software is an asset;
• Experience working with a document management system, such as iManage, is an asset;
• Possess well-developed organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines;
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to help build relationships and provide excellent client services;
• A confident self-starter, who can work well both independently and in a team environment;
• Operate with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail; and
• Show good judgment and respond well to constructive feedback.
