Family law legal assistant – contract Full Time

Fantastic law firm looking for a legal assistant to join their team! This position is a 1 year contract. Reporting to 1 senior lawyer, the incumbent is required to have 4 plus years’ experience working with all types of family law matters including parenting and complicated financial issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• opening and closing of files
• preparation of net family property statements
• scheduling and managing lawyer’s calendar
• preparing billings
• prepare and issue correspondence and legal documents
• other admin duties as needed

Skills required:

• graduate of a legal assistant or law clerk program
• experienced with family law rules as well as the ON Rules of Civil Procedure
• at least 4 years’ of experience working as a family law legal assistant
• proficient with PC law, Divorcemate and MS Word
• excellent communication skills written and verbal in English
