Fabulous litigation law firm located downtown Toronto is opening their doors. The firm is primarily insurance defence law.
Responsibilities:
Liaise with clients and opposing counsel;
Prepare pleadings, affidavits, motion records, motion confirmation forms, facta and books of authorities, etc.
Scheduling of examinations for discovery, mediations, pre-trials, court-mandated conferences, etc.
Online filing of pleadings and coordination with court offices regarding trial and motions bookings and related court document filings;
Drafting cover/service letters and coordinating delivery of documents;
Knowledge of Accident Benefits and LAT mediation/arbitration procedures;
Admin tasks such as: saving of documents, photocopying, incoming and outgoing mail, entering dockets, etc.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a litigation assistant.
Knowledge of the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and court practice and procedures at various levels, including but not limited to Notices to the Profession and Regional Practice Directions
MS Word; MS Outlook, PC Law, Windows
Excellent written and verbal English skills, including spelling and grammar.
Ability to deal effectively with all levels of management, while being a team player.
