Medical Malpractice law clerk role – 90K Permanent NEW

Fabulous Personal Injury law firm located downtown walking distance to Union Station is growing! The firm is looking to add a Medical Malpractice Law Clerk. Firm offers full benefits, competitive salary and a great team work environment.

Responsibilities:

• drafting summary charts of clients’ medical records, out-of-pocket expenses, and income and employment information, etc.;
• taking lay witness statements; communicating with clients, experts, court personnel, staff at other law firms, etc.;
• completing medical research on case specific medical issues;
• ordering medical articles and textbooks; scanning documents;
• attendance at court for filing documents; organizing witness schedules for trial;
• attendance at trial; and brainstorming case issues with the office team.

Skills experience required:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the highest attention to detail.
• Experience with Primafact, Excel, basic filing, hyperlinking documents, photocopying, and binding materials is a must, along with the willingness to work in a team environment while taking personal initiative on file work.
• Graduate of a law clerk program
• A minimum of 3 years’ of experience working in a similar role in Ontario
• Familiar with the ON Rules of Civil Procedure
